Job description

GENERAL SUMMARY:
  • Under supervision, the intern will review Medicaid ILOS, and other state and federal laws and regulations, conduct analyses, and write summaries, coordinate with the community and subject matter experts to obtain their feedback, and draft and edit deliverables for stakeholders.
  • The intern will have the opportunity to contribute to policy analyses on a variety of issues, such as healthcare reimbursement across multiple provider types, healthcare workforce issues,
  • Artificial Intelligence in healthcare, public health, health equity, the social determinants of health, and additional key federal, state, and local issues that may arise during the internship.
  • The intern will actively participate in staff meetings and learn how to conduct policy and health economics work for a health system.
  • The intern will be responsible for drafting manuscripts, policy brief on a key Medicaid issues, as well as conduct presentations on this topic.
  • At the end of the internship, the intern should be able to point to key deliverables or initiatives to which they contributed and have built connections across Henry Ford Health.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Incoming 2nd year Masters-level student (MPH, MHSA, MPP) studying health policy.
