Job description

Job Description

At Citadel Securities, our DMM traders play an important and specialized role in maintaining fair and orderly markets across securities on the NYSE, the United States' most important market. The team uses predictive analytics and special order types to help respond to market signals and contribute to price discovery and open and closing auctions during the trading day.

As an intern, you'll get to challenge the impossible in markets and trading through an 11-week program that will allow you to collaborate and connect with senior team members while gaining exposure to the world's largest and most important stock exchange. In addition, you'll get the opportunity to network and socialize with peers throughout the internship while working on real world projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop in-depth knowledge of financial markets and how Citadel Securities delivers liquidity to clients
  • Work with current trading team to learn about the IPO process: from identifying and reaching out to clients, reviewing IPO materials, learning about the initial trade, and how to manage future client relationships
  • Learn how our team works across internal asset classes to provide valuable market activity updates during the trading day
  • Observe how traders develop trading strategies around technical and market events on the systematic team

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's or master's in finance, business administration, economics, computer science, statistics, mathematics or related disciplines preferred
  • Passion and demonstrated interest in the markets
  • Attention to detail and good organizational skills
  • Self-starter and hard-working, not afraid to question status quo, and has an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to efficiently multi-task and adapt to changing situations
  • Some understanding of markets, trading life cycle, and financial products

Opportunities available in New York.

In addition to weekly pay, interns may be eligible for a highly competitive sign-on bonus, housing stipend or covered living accommodations, company-sponsored travel, and a variety of on-site benefits, including access to on-site fitness and wellness amenities, catered meals, and social and networking events.

In accordance with applicable law, the base salary range for this role is $2,000 to $2,800 per week.
