The Large Power Systems Division (LPSD) is part of Caterpillar's Power & Energy segment. Through this global organization, Caterpillar designs and manufactures large (greater than 18 liters) diesel and natural gas engines, powertrains and key engine systems. - Design of electrical and mechanical systems for internal combustion engines and electrification products which include sensors, actuators, circuit protection, CAN networks, ethernet, electronic control modules, and telemetry
- Product definition of electrical interfaces and protocols for integration with customer control systems
- Collaboration with embedded software developers
- Validation of software against requirements
- Calibration of electronic control modules in real-time on running engines and hardware-in-the-loop simulators
- Support of production facilities
- Occasional travel to customers for commissioning and troubleshooting
Degree Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an accredited Electrical, Mechanical, or Agricultural Engineering or Engineering Technology curriculum, or Computer Science curriculum
