Job description

The Child Care Center Teacher is responsiblefor developing and implementing a rich teaching and learning environment forchildren, maintaining an organized and safe environment, and implementing dailyactivities that are developmentally appropriate. The Child Development CenterDirector will oversee and lead the Child Care Center Teacher in theimplementation of the daily activities and ensure compliance with statelicensing regulations and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
-Planning and implementing daily program ofdevelopmentally appropriate activities  based on Louisiana Departmentof Education Early Learning Guidelines.
-Planning and gathering necessary tools(documentation, TS Gold, etc)  to assess the needs of the individual childfor curriculum planning
-Maintaining program quality, adhering to allstate licensing agencies and required regulations
-Possessing knowledge of Teaching Strategies GOLD,Louisiana Pathways, CLASS assessment system, research-based best practices,developmentally appropriate practices
-Reviewing each child's progress and develop planto promote each child's growth and development
-Maintaining positive relationships with childrenand families with open communication concerning all aspects of the child'sdevelopment and by responding appropriately to their interests, requests, andneeds
-Mentoring student interns
-Attending/completing required trainings mandatedby state licensing and the university
-Maintaining records of children's progress
-Maintaining confidentiality of information
-Preparing for special events; including, but notlimited to, holidays, dress-up days, deadline dates, parent-teacherconferences, scholastic book fair week, picture days, staff work/planning days,Homecoming parade, Mardi Gras parade, Winter Wonderland, Spring Fling, Pre-Kcelebration, special guests, awareness activities, etc
