Salary:$50,678-$71,564,annually, commensurate with experience relevant to the position
Location: Hudson Falls, NY (onsite, No remote option)
Work Hours: Monday-Friday; 8:00A-2:45P
The Industrial Performance and Machining Instructor is responsible for teaching CAD/CAM, Solid Works, Master CAM, CNC programming and operation, operation of conventional equipment, and G-Code Programming theory along with hands-on skills to students enrolled in the Career and Technical Education program. The instructor will prepare students for employment in the Industrial Performance and Machining field and for industry certification exams.

  • Develop and deliver theoretical curriculum and hands-on instruction in manual and CNC machining, including lathes, milling machines, and grinders, ensuring students master precision measurement and blueprint reading;
  • Demonstrate proper use and proficiency of high tech equipment, programming, and precision machining of component parts for automobiles, performance vehicles, industrial machines, and more;
  • Establish and enforce a rigorous CTE safety program, instructing high school students on the proper use of eye protection, machine guards, and the safe operation of hazardous equipment in a shop environment;
  • Design and implement a sequenced curriculum that aligns with NYSED standards, integrating Career and Financial Management (CFM) and core academic skills like technical math and English;
  • Prepare students to earn national and state industry certifications and lead them through the required NOCTI technical assessments;
  • Evaluate and grade students' class work, labs, quizzes, exams, and practical skills exams;
  • Track student progress and adapt teaching methods to meet varying abilities and learning styles;
  • Maintain accurate administrative records for attendance, grades, certification exam results, and other data;
  • Stay current with teaching methodologies and industry trends in the Industrial Performance and Machining field and collaborate with local businesses for internship and job placement opportunities;
  • Participate in professional development activities to stay current in the field;
  • Maintain positive relationships with colleagues, parents, advisory boards, and industry partners in the community;
  • Implement BOCES policies, procedures and State Education Department mandates;
  • Other duties as assigned.
