Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Career Coach of Experiential Learning & Internships for the President's Internship Program for Community Impact in Boca Raton, FL.

The FAU Career Coach, Experiential Learning & Internships - President's Internship Program for Community Impact (PIPCI), is a multifaceted role that engages students, alumni, faculty, staff, employer partners, and the community. Develops and executes programs that support experiential learning objectives, creating positive pathways for student and employer engagement through job shadowing programs, internships, micro-internships, and experiential learning opportunities. The Career Coach will build internal and external connections, helping students identify and prepare for their future careers.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Student Engagement:

  • Manages the recruitment of students for the PIPCI program.

  • Manages the HR processes (onboarding) for students within the PIPCI program, including placement and evaluation of PIPCI participants.

  • Verifies student eligibility for PIPCI and serves as liaison with Human Resources office on campus.

  • Tracks the outcomes of each Class of PIPCI participants, including post-graduation placement/salary.

  • Coordinates and delivers Orientation sessions for PIPCI participants, in collaboration with the additional team members who work on the PIPCI program in the Career Center.

  • Partners with the Career Education and Career Coaching team to enhance programs and applications that prepare students for their careers, focusing on the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) core competencies.

  • Develops, delivers, and facilitates experiential learning workshops and programs for students, faculty, and staff.

  • Provides comprehensive services for students and alumni, including resume building, critiques, internship searches, micro-internship and job shadow applications, job search strategies, career exploration, and interview preparation.

  • Assists students with job shadowing and internship course registrations, managing student assignments and employer evaluations for Internship Courses, and liaising with faculty instructors.

  • Guides students in utilizing career-related and internship course technology platforms such as Handshake, Canvas, Big Interview, Jobscan, Focus 2, and others.

  • Coaches students through the reflective process following experiential education and assists in assessing next steps.

Program Management - (PIPCI):

  • Manages the recruitment of employers for the PIPCI program.

  • Communicates with employers on HR processes for PIPCI students, providing updates on the students' statuses.

  • Coordinates and delivers Q&A sessions for PIPCI employers to answer any questions they may have about the program.

  • Promotes career fairs and specific events to employers based on recruiting needs.

  • Develops strategic employer outreach and marketing plans to identify potential employer contacts, researching opportunities for job shadowing, off-campus internships, part-time employment, and fellowships.

  • Collaborates with FAU Career Center College Liaisons to develop, track, and execute internship programs.

  • Collects and reports internship engagement and employment data.

  • Builds and maintains relationships with new and existing employers, proactively following up and scheduling virtual and in-person meetings to strengthen partnerships.

General:

  • Supports Career Center Events, initiatives, and special programs, and delivers FAU Career Center programs within the broader FAU community.

  • Conducts presentations on Career Center services (internship search strategies, how to succeed at your internship, micro-internships, etc.) to students, families, and faculty.

  • Exhibits strong multitasking skills while managing student appointments, employer interactions, internship data reports, and other projects as needed.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience.

$50,000 - $51,500 annually.
