JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Project Engineer assists and supports the Project Manager on assigned projects. The position works under direct supervision, performs routine daily activities, and gathers and distributes information.

SALARY RANGE: $85,000 - $105,000 annually (companywide)

It's 100% company-funded and is invested in BNBuilders stock. You can participate in this long-term plan after you complete 1 year of service (with at least 1,000 hours).
  • Vehicle/Vehicle allowance, fuel card, and toll pass.

JOB RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Coordinate with project architects, designers, owners, subcontractors and field personnel.
  • Responsible for generating Request for Information (RFI) and submittals.
  • Manage project subcontractors including coordination, procurement of materials and equipment, monitoring budget and cost, manage billings, etc.
  • Act as the information hub to ensure continuity of work.
  • Offer technical information to project supervisor to ensure work complies with applicable codes, drawings, and specifications.
  • Prepare and execute subcontracts and subcontractor change orders, including time extensions. May prepare and execute owner change orders.
  • Provide estimating services.
  • Primary responsibility to monitor and track project quality control metrics and activities on a regular basis, provide timely and accurate quality reports, and raise issues to Project Manager or Superintendent as appropriate.
  • Inspect all work to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Maintain critical project logs (submittal, change order, etc.)
  • May supervise staff, including establishing and communicating performance expectations, providing positive and constructive feedback, and conducting on-the-job training of project engineers and interns.
  • May be responsible for managing project schedule with the project Superintendent.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of a four-year degree program in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience assisting or supervising construction projects of increasing complexity.
  • Full knowledge of computer software, i.e. MS Word, Excel, Project. Knowledge of Primavera scheduling software a plus.
  • Experience with Project Controls software (Timberline, Prolog or equal).
  • Working knowledge Autocad or Revit a plus.
  • Broad knowledge of LEAN and BIM techniques.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
