Summary:
The Associate Project Manager - Services is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of multiple utility-scale renewable energy facilities. This role leads Site/Plant Managers, oversees field activities, ensures safe and reliable operations, and drives performance across assigned assets. The APM coordinates maintenance, troubleshooting, system testing, and contractor oversight while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.
The Associate Project Manager escalates budgetary, contractual, and critical strategic issues to the Regional/Project Manager but independently manages daily execution and operational decision-making.
This role is hybrid, requiring at least 3 days in office.
Requirements:
  • Manages daily operations of renewable energy assets (Focused on Energy Storage but Wind, Solar could come in consideration), including direct oversight of smaller assets.
  • Builds strong relationships with owners and stakeholders to ensure operational expectations and contractual performance metrics are met.
  • Oversees execution of maintenance plans, coordinating with facility operators to ensure compliance with contractual and operational requirements.
  • Leads troubleshooting, fault analysis, and investigations into equipment failures or underperformance.
  • Develops and maintains facility-specific and departmental O&M procedures.
  • Produces operational reports for internal teams and clients.
  • Provides on-call operational support.
  • Drives automation and improvement of site data collection and reporting processes.
  • Provides technical support to site teams and develops tools for reliability and performance analysis.
  • Leads reliability improvement initiatives with site and service personnel.
  • Maintains O&M cost trackers and supports forecasting of future O&M costs.
  • Maintains familiarity with OSHA, NERC, ERCOT, TRE, NFPA, and other industry groups
  • Collaborates with internal teams to analyze expected vs. actual production data.
  • Ensures proper use of materials and equipment and performs additional duties as assigned.
  • Performs other duties on as needed basis.
  • Manages day-to-day vendor and subcontractor activities to ensure compliance with scope, schedule, and quality expectations.
  • Identifies and evaluates potential vendors for future RES projects.
  • Escalates contractual, financial, or high-risk issues to the Regional/Project Manager.

  • Demonstrates and reinforces a safety-first culture across all operations.
  • Ensures all personnel follow safe work practices and corrects unsafe behaviors.
  • Ensures site teams understand and adhere to standard operating procedures.
  • Identifies and reports unsafe conditions and ensures appropriate corrective actions

Leadership:
  • Fosters a workplace culture focused on opportunity, service, trust, innovation, and high performance.
  • Manages one or more direct reports.
  • Participates in hiring and selection processes.
  • Communicates regularly with direct reports regarding goals, performance, and policy updates.
  • Represents RES professionally with clients and stakeholders.

  • Conducts regular development discussions and empowers employees to grow.
  • Completes timely and effective performance reviews in accordance with RES guidelines.

Qualifications:
  • High school/GED General Education required.
  • Bachelor Degree Engineering or Business Management required.
  • 1+ years Power or Renewables Project required.
  • Experience with utility scale facility management.
  • Strong management background.
  • Field Electrical experience in utility grade facilities a plus.
  • Experience with Energy Storage a plus.
  • Intermediate usage of MS SQL, Strong Access, Excel, and Office suite skills.
  • Knowledge of PI or SQL desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to represent RES professionally in all aspects.
  • Ability to work effectively with other groups within RES.
  • Self-motivated and the ability to interface in a team environment.
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills.
  • Basic electrical (low voltage) and switching (high voltage) knowledge and skills helpful but not required.
  • Ability to reliably respond to operational issues on rotating 24/7 basis.
  • Functional competencies include teamwork, customer focus, collaboration, communication, and attention to detail
  • Domestic and International travel 16-30% required.
  • Valid Driver's License required.

Anticipated base salary range: $70,000 - $88,000
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible.
