Location: Driscoll Children's Hospital - Inpatient Rehabilitation
Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, day shift, with rotational on-call coverage.
Driscoll Children's Hospital is seeking a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist to join our inpatient Rehabilitation team. In this role, you'll provide evaluation and treatment services to pediatric patients ranging from newborns through adolescents while working closely with their families and an interdisciplinary care team.
This is a great opportunity for an SLP who is passionate about pediatric care and interested in working in a collaborative hospital setting.
Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate patients using appropriate assessment tools and clinical judgment.
  • Develop individualized, functional, and measurable treatment goals based on each patient's age and developmental needs.
  • Provide speech-language pathology treatment services according to each patient's plan of care.
  • Educate patients and families regarding evaluation results, recommendations, treatment goals, and home programs.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, therapists, and other members of the patient care team.
  • Participate in patient care conferences, departmental meetings, and process improvement activities.
  • Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Serve as a care coordinator when appropriate.
  • Maintain required productivity standards.
  • Follow infection prevention, patient safety, confidentiality, and hospital policies.
  • Participate in rotational on-call, weekend, and holiday coverage as needed.
  • May provide coverage at an alternate inpatient or outpatient location based on experience and departmental needs.
  • Provide clinical guidance to students, interns, and rehabilitation support staff as appropriate.
Education and Experience:
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Texas Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
  • Current CPR certification (or obtain within 90 days of hire)
