Job Summary

We're looking for a Business Analyst to support our Costco team by turning data into insights that help clients grow and make better business decisions.


This role works closely with sales, account management, and operations teams to analyze performance, identify trends, develop reporting, and support planning initiatives. You'll help transform large datasets into meaningful recommendations that improve execution, uncover opportunities, and support client growth.


The ideal candidate is analytical, curious, detail-oriented, and excited about using data, technology, and AI tools to solve business problems.


This position will be based out of our Minneapolis office.


What You'll Do

Reporting & Business Analysis

  • Analyze sales, inventory, and performance data to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities
  • Develop recurring reports, dashboards, and business summaries for internal teams and clients
  • Monitor key business metrics and provide recommendations that support account performance
  • Validate data accuracy and maintain reporting consistency across projects
  • Support ad hoc analysis requests from sales, account management, and leadership teams

Forecasting & Performance Insights

  • Support demand planning and forecasting activities through data analysis and trend identification
  • Assist in evaluating inventory performance, sell-through trends, and business drivers
  • Identify root causes of performance changes and develop actionable recommendations
  • Help monitor business performance against goals and key performance indicators
  • Translate data into insights that support strategic decision-making

Data Management & Process Support

  • Organize, clean, and maintain datasets used for reporting and analysis
  • Support the development and maintenance of reporting tools and data resources
  • Assist in documenting business processes, workflows, and reporting standards
  • Help improve reporting accuracy, efficiency, and accessibility across teams
  • Support special projects and business initiatives as needed

AI & Continuous Improvement

  • Utilize AI tools and emerging technologies to improve reporting, analysis, and workflow efficiency
  • Explore opportunities to automate manual processes and streamline reporting activities
  • Support testing and adoption of new tools, technologies, and business processes
  • Contribute ideas that improve decision-making, productivity, and business visibility
  • Stay informed on emerging analytics and AI capabilities relevant to the business

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with sales, account management, operations, and finance teams to support business objectives
  • Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Support internal planning, business reviews, and client reporting initiatives
  • Contribute to a collaborative, data-driven culture across the organization


What We're Looking For

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field preferred
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience, including internships, co-ops, or early-career professional experience
  • Experience working with data, reporting, analytics, forecasting, or business intelligence preferred
  • Retail, CPG, eCommerce, or consumer products experience is a plus
  • Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, or similar platforms preferred
  • Working knowledge of Circana, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, or other analytics tools is a plus

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and develop recommendations
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, formulas, and data analysis
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn new tools, technologies, and business processes
