Job Summary:                                                                                    

Serves as a Senior Systems Administrator providing advanced technical leadership, design, optimization, and operational support for enterprise servers and datacenter environments. This role supports Microsoft and Linux platforms, virtualization, enterprise storage, backup and recovery, and security initiatives while serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for shared services enterprise datacenter projects. The position also leads to modernization efforts and mentors' junior system administrators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide senior-level system administration support for enterprise servers and datacenter environments

  • Design, optimize, and maintain enterprise platforms supporting mission-critical operations

  • Administer and support Microsoft Windows Server and Linux operating systems

  • Support and manage virtualization platforms, including VMware, and enterprise storage solutions

  • Lead server modernization initiatives, including system upgrades and technology refresh efforts

  • Perform backup and recovery operations for Data Operations Centers (DOC)

  • Conduct system patching, performance tuning, capacity planning, and resource optimization

  • Provide Tier II/III escalation support and technical guidance to lower-tier support teams

  • Support enterprise security initiatives and datacenter physical security tools and applications

  • Utilize DCIM tools to monitor, manage, and optimize datacenter infrastructure

  • Perform hardware and software upgrades and maintain operational configurations

  • Develop and maintain technical, operational, and project management documentation

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Shared Services Enterprise Datacenter IT projects

  • Lead and participate in enterprise technical initiatives and cross-functional projects

  • Mentor and coach junior system administrators

  • Collaborate with cross-departmental teams and communicate effectively through written documentation, verbal communication, and presentations

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree, technical training certificate, or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of related technical experience supporting enterprise or datacenter-level IT environments

  • Proven experience supporting:

  • Microsoft Windows Server environments

  • Linux operating systems

  • Enterprise Microsoft products and management tools

  • VMware virtualization platforms

  • Experience with backup and recovery, system patching, performance tuning, and capacity planning

  • Experience with enterprise storage solutions and infrastructure optimization

  • Experience using industry-standard datacenter physical security tools and applications

  • Working knowledge of DCIM tools and datacenter infrastructure management

Preferred / Additional Skills

  • Basic knowledge of scripting and programming languages, including:

  • PowerShell

  • Visual Basic

  • .NET

  • C#

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to independently resolve highly complex technical issues

  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Proven leadership skills and experience leading technical efforts and projects

  • Ability to mentor junior technical staff

  • Excellent interdepartmental communication skills (written, verbal, and presentations)
