Job description

This is a temporary, part-time certified teaching position for the Summer Enrichment Program for Thomaston Public Schools:
 

CERTIFIED TEACHER POSITION (GRADES 1-6)
Rate of Pay:  $31.09 per hour (June 23, 2026-June 30, 2026); $35.17 per hour (July 1, 2026 through July 20, 2026)

Prep Hours:  1 hour set up - June 23, 2026; 1 hour per day - June 24, 2026 through July 17, 2026; 1 hour clean up - July 20, 2026

Instruction  Hours:  8:00am to 12:00pm with students, Monday through Friday (5 hours total per day), June 24, 2026 through July 17, 2026


Program Information:  Wednesday, June 24, 2026 through Friday, July 17, 2026 (no work hours on Friday, July 3 due to Independence Day)
Location:  All summer programs will be held at the Thomaston High School facility
No benefits/no paid time off

The Thomaston Public Schools district is located in Thomaston, Connecticut which encompasses a land area of 12 square miles and has a population of 7,922.  The Town is 10 miles south of Torrington, 23 miles west of Hartford and is bordered by Waterbury, Plymouth, Harwinton, Litchfield, and Watertown.  Thomaston is a residential community that consists predominantly of single-family homes affordable across a broad range of income levels.  Residents are served by Thomaston's diversified economic base which includes many small and medium-sized manufacturers offering opportunities to its students through sound annual budgets, diverse course offerings, and internship/exploration programs.
