Job description

MiraCosta College Receptionist/Switchboard Operator Pool

The Public Information Office (PIO) at MiraCosta College is looking to build a pool of substitute Receptionist/Switchboard Operators to serve as receptionist at the information desk as needed. The assignment will be on an on-call basis, with substitutes potentially being contacted on short notice about a shift. The department will review applications in the pool as needed. Applications are valid through June 30, 2027, at which time they will expire. A new posting for this pool will be posted on July 1, 2027, and those still interested will need to reapply at that time. Residency requirement: MiraCosta College Board Policy 7800: Employee Residency requires all classified staff, administrators, and temporary/hourly short-term employees to maintain and permanently reside in a principal place of residence in the state of California that is within two-hundred (200) road miles from the employee's regularly assigned district worksite.

Under the direction of the Director of Public & Governmental Relations, Marketing and Communications, serve as receptionist at the information desk in the lobby of the Administration Building, answer questions and provide information to the public both in person and in response to telephone calls. $25.47 per hour (range 9, step 1).
