Position Overview:
We are looking for a Junior .NET Application Developer to join our team and support the development and maintenance of our enterprise applications. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate who has a strong academic foundation in computer science and is eager to grow their skills in real-world, production-level software development. You will work alongside experienced developers to learn our application architecture, contribute to new features, and help ensure system reliability.
Location:
Onsite in Lynchburg, VA in our secured facility. We can provide relocation benefits to the right candidate!
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing and maintaining features within large .NET applications
  • Work with VB.Net, C#, ASP.NET Core / .NET 6+, or .NET Framework
  • Write and maintain basic SQL queries and stored procedures
  • Participate in troubleshooting and resolving software issues with support from senior team members
  • Help prepare and update technical documentation
  • Collaborate with the development team to understand requirements, existing logic, and best practices
  • Take part in code reviews to learn and apply feedback
  • Support continual improvement initiatives within the team

Required Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Academic experience or internship exposure to .NET development (VB.Net, C#, ASP.NET Core, or .NET Framework)
  • Basic understanding of SQL (writing queries, joins)
  • Solid foundational knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts
  • Familiarity with layered architecture and separation of concerns from coursework or projects
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and work within large, established codebases
  • Ability to work collaboratively, or individually, follow directions, and ask clarifying questions as needed
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.

Preferred Additional Qualifications
  • Exposure to Entity Framework or similar ORM tools (academic or internship experience)
  • Basic knowledge of Oracle or SQL Server environments
  • Experience with academic or internship projects involving .NET applications
  • Understanding of common design principles from coursework

Pay: $60,000 - $90,000
The base salary range for this position in Virginia (US-VA) at the start of employment is expected to be between $60,000 and $90,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,' unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
