BJC HealthCare is seeking a Clinical Financial Specialist to support our IVF clinic! This individual will be counseling patients on their coverage for services and procedures around invitro fertilization including cost, coverage and payment plans.
Ideal applicants will have a background in healthcare and a strong attention to detail.
Schedule: on site M-F day shift
Overview
Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. Barnes-Jewish Hospital's staff is composed of full-time academic faculty and community physicians of Washington University School of Medicine, supported by a house staff of residents, interns, fellows and other medical professionals. Recognizing its excellence in nursing care, Barnes-Jewish Hospital was the first adult hospital in Missouri to be certified as a Magnet Hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
The Department of In Vitro Fertilization at Barnes-Jewish Hospital has been helping men and women with infertility and assisting them in their goal of starting or adding to their families.¿ Barnes-Jewish Hospital was the first program in Missouri to achieve a birth from IVF, and since then, has seen thousands of babies conceived through IVF.¿ The department uses the most state-of-the-art micromanipulation techniques to give patients the best chance of success.¿ Our IVF lab is compliant with the FDA and SART.¿ It is CAP and CLIA accredited.
Preferred Qualifications
Role Purpose
Assists financial and clinical administrators, physicians and surgeons, and other medical school management staff to achieve favorable reimbursement for clinical and professional services provided across specific patient population's continuum of care.
Responsibilities
  • Assists in the development of global managed care and single patient discount contracts.
  • Completes the financial assessment at the time of a transplant patient referral.
  • Generates statistical reports pertaining to the clinical and financial programs.
  • Educates various audiences (both clinical and non-clinical) regarding insurance coverage, contracting, criteria for transplant listing and transplant program protocols.
