Job description

Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist

Inova is looking for experienced Cardiovascular Invasive Specialists to join the team. This is a full-time variable shift role. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance eligible. Positions available at the following Inova hospitals:

  • Inova Alexandria Hospital- 4320 Seminary Rd, Alexandria, VA 22304
  • Inova Fairfax Medical Campus- 3300 Gallows Rd, Falls Church, VA 22042

Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Provides safe and therapeutic care in a holistic and caring way while incorporating differences into the provision of care. Integrates knowledge, skill and experiences to meet the patient needs.
  • Performs psychosocial/physiologic assessments that integrate changing data as documented in procedure notes.
  • Tailors and prioritizes caring practices to individual needs, including cultural/ethical/spiritual needs. Participates in the planning of routine transitional health care needs (e.g. treatment options).
  • Ensures efficiency in the delivery of care while determining immediate priorities and offering solutions for problems.

Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist 1 Requirements:

  • Education: Vocational/Technical in the area of study in Radiologic Technology; Graduate of an accredited school of Radiography
  • Licensure: Licensed Radiologic Technologist Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Radiologic Technologist required only if the position is located in a free standing center not affiliated with an Inova Health System Hospital
  • Certification: Basic Life Support within 90 days, ACLS within 90 days; American Registered Radiologic Technologists registry eligible. If a graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program, must also obtain their Registered Technologist with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) within 30 days of hire.
  • Experience: None required

Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist 2 Requirements:

  • Licensure: Registered Nurse Upon Start If the team member doesn't possess one of the above registries, the team member must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.
  • Certification: Basic Life Support Upon Start; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Upon Start; Registered in one of the following: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), Radiologic Technologist Vascular Interventional Radiology (RTR VI), Radiologic Technologist Cardiovascular (RTR CV) or Radiologic Technologist Cardiovascular Interventional (RTR CI) required. Unless at least 5 years of Interventional Radiology Tech experience with active RTR registry, OR a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. If a graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program, must also have their Registered Technologist with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) upon hire.
  • Experience: One year of experience in interventional Cardiac Cath Lab or Electrophysiology Lab performing Cardio Invasive Specialist duties or equivalent years of experience as a nurse working in a critical care hospital unit.
  • Education: Associate Degree Nursing Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and/or Graduate of an accredited, school of Cardiovascular Technology or Radiology Technology or equivalent education and experience.
