Job Description:
A Brief OverviewResponsible for safe transportation of patients using transport vehicles which include wheelchair van and secure car. Provides intra-facility transports of mental health patients using a secured car. Responsible for documentation of patient transports. Participation in educational programs and in-services as well as performance of miscellaneous related duties. Effectively interacts with the patient, significant others, and other health team members while maintaining high standards of professional care. Provides high quality patient-centered transportation services to the following customer populations: Public; Patients; Allied emergency personnel; Students doing field internships.What you will do

Responsible for assisting passenger to and from vehicle. Includes hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, passenger's homes and other locations.

Comfort and reassure passengers.
-
Communicate with transport coordinator, passengers, family members, health care workers and others to provide information about situation, to arrange safe and timely transportation of passengers.

Responsible for safe operation of wheelchair van, secure car, and other transport vehicles.

Maintain vehicles and communication equipment, and replenish first-aid equipment and supplies.

Decontaminate car interior following transport of patient.

Observe, record, and report on patient transport.

Responsible for general cleaning duties of base to include but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash collection, scrubbing and disinfecting all areas.

Sit, monitor, and document as a sitter during downtime.

Chauffer Iowa Dept of Transportation (United States of America) Upon Hire (Required)

1-3 years' experience driver of passenger vehicle (Preferred)

Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
