The Electronic Warfare and Airborne Sensors department within the Space and Air Sensors; Systems Engineering & Test Capabilities (SE&TC) organization has an immediate opening for a Systems Engineer to support the design, development, and testing of cutting-edge Electronic Warfare (EW) technology for a suite of products across multiple programs. This position supports a variety of activities including but not limited to architecture development, requirements management, and development oversight for signal processing systems and software defined RF systems (radar, communications, and/or EW). The successful candidate is an energetic, focused, and capable engineer with strong organizational capabilities and a drive to learn and grow. The ideal candidate has analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to operate semi-independently with limited supervision, is a strong team player, and establishes solid working relationships with technical staff members, customers, and peers. ONSITE Position in Fort Wayne, IN
What You Will Do:
  • Understand the customer's architecture needs and desired capabilities and participate in requirements decomposition to ensure appropriate allocation of technical architecture elements.
  • Develop innovative solutions to complex technical challenges in signal processing design.
  • Create, modify, and/or test existing electronic warfare signal processing and control algorithms and associated system software.
  • Develop and execute test plans, including test simulations and lab tests to verify system capability.
  • Evaluate and assess functional performance of developmental RF systems, including signal processing subsystems, software, and/or firmware/control algorithms.
  • Able to balance multiple, varying commitments, exercising discretion and with relatively low direct oversight.

What You Will Learn:
After completion of comprehensive on-the-job training, the candidate will be a part of a team supporting Systems Engineering, Systems Integration & Test activities across the product development lifecycle.
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Master's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) obtained by start date.
  • This position requires 12 months or less of professional experience (excluding internships).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Exposure to system architecture definition and requirements derivation, allocation, and management.
  • Experience with or training on the use of model based engineering tools in the development of system models, simulations, and other forms of analysis to predict system performance, ensuring design optimization.
  • Ability to support occasional business travel (20% or less).

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Familiarity with development, implementation, and test of RF jamming algorithms.
  • Experience using MATLAB, Python, C++, PathWave ADS, AMD Vivado, and/or PathWave EMPro for simulation and design of RF systems.
  • RF receiver/exciter product design, development, and/or test experience in electronic warfare systems
  • Understanding of embedded systems and embedded programming. Experience implementing digital signal processing solutions on embedded processors and digital hardware.
  • Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles and tools (eg Cameo or similar).

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
