The role is primarily remote, allowing for a flexible schedule while ensuring that you are part of a supportive and innovative teamwork structure. As part of our team, you will engage in regular interactions with other clinicians and healthcare providers, fostering a collaborative atmosphere that enhances patient care.

• Conduct comprehensive assessments, diagnose mental health conditions, and evaluate patient progress using established tools like the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.
• Develop individualized treatment plans collaboratively with patients and their families, addressing their specific needs and cultural contexts.
• Utilize evidence-based interventions to monitor and support mental health outcomes effectively.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatment records and clinical information in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Facilitate referrals and coordinate care with other healthcare providers, ensuring seamless transitions and support for patients.
• Educate and mentor interns, students, and volunteers, enhancing their understanding of clinical practices and patient interactions.
• Contribute to a culture of collaborative practice by engaging in peer reviews, providing clinical insights, and participating in team discussions for the continuous improvement of care quality.

This position predominantly involves working with individuals and families impacted by cancer diagnoses. You will provide empathetic therapy that addresses emotional, psychological, and social challenges, ensuring that treatment approaches are tailored specifically to the varied needs of an oncology population.

• A master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• A current license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) valid in the State of Virginia.
• Strong understanding of clinical practices and ethical guidelines in mental health treatment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with patients and team members.

• Experience working with oncology patients or in a similar healthcare setting is highly valued.
• Demonstrated ability to utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions effectively.
• Previous experience in mentoring or training peers and interns is a plus.
