Internship Summary:
Palolo Chinese Home is currently seeking individuals with genuine desire to serve the community and to help individuals with limited capacity for self-care. If you are the ideal candidate, we can provide a paid internship program with continued employment upon graduating from nurse aide training school. The cost of the program is covered by Palolo Chinese Home.
Training Pay: $16.50/hour
Post-Graduation Pay: $18.00/hour, shift differential pay and incentive may apply

Responsibilities:
  • You will play a crucial role in assisting residents with various daily activities, ensuring their comfort, and well-being.
  • You will directly contribute to the residents' quality of life by helping with grooming, bathing, mobility, and other tasks.
  • Communicating with other staff members about changes in the residents' condition, complaints, or issues.

Qualifications:
  • Must be able to represent Palolo Chinese Home in a professional manner.
  • Must meet attendance requirements and thoroughly complete the attendance sheet.
  • Comply with the training requirements of the training school and successfully graduate from the program.
  • Report to worksite for additional training during non-classroom training period.
  • Will pursue certification to become Certified Nurse Aide within a designated timeline.
  • Must be able to withstand odors and peculiarities in the behavior of aged residents.
  • Must be able to work an 8-hour shift from 2 to 10:30 pm or 10 pm to 6:30 am.
  • Must be able to stand and walk throughout the 8-hour shift.
  • Must be able to push beds, wheelchairs and/or recliners with residents weighing more than 200 pounds occupying furniture.
  • Must be able to use technology to perform related job duties such as recording residents' information, clocking in/out for payroll and doing training on the computer.
