MMI is looking for a reliable Process Technician who is ready to play a key role in supporting our production team by ensuring our molding processes run smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
The Process Technician supports daily manufacturing operations by troubleshooting and optimizing injection molding processes, tooling, and auxiliary equipment. This role is responsible for mold setups, process improvements, changeovers, preventative maintenance support, and ensuring molded products consistently meet customer and internal quality standards. The Process Technician also serves as a technical resource for Operators, Supervisors, and Engineering by providing training and process expertise.
Schedule: Monday-Wednesday 12:00pm-6:15pm and alternating Thursday/Friday or Saturday/Sunday 6:00am-6:15pm.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform mold changes, machine startups, changeovers, and shutdowns according to production schedule.
  • Troubleshoot molding process issues, tooling concerns, and auxiliary equipment to minimize downtime and scrap.
  • Monitor and adjust processing parameters including cycle time, product weight, color, and wall thickness.
  • Support resin trials, equipment installations, and process validation as needed.
  • Develop and maintain process sheets and setup standards for molds and tooling.
  • Complete light maintenance and preventative maintenance activities on molds, fixtures, and secondary equipment.
  • Verify material moisture content prior to startup and follow all established process specifications.
  • Train and support Operators on proper machine operation, process standards, and troubleshooting techniques
  • Identify scrap reduction and continuous process improvement.
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience processing and troubleshooting injection molding equipment.
  • Knowledge of mold setup, startup, process optimization, and changeovers.
  • Experience with large part injection molding preferred.
  • Light maintenance skills with ability to support equipment upkeep.
  • Ability to read and follow process sheets, setup documentation, and quality standards.
  • Strong computer, documentation, and communication skills (verbal and written).
Work Environment
  • Working in office and manufacturing environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs, climb ladders up to 15 feet, stand for excess of 8 hours per day in an environment that may be hot, noisy, dirty.
