Marine Construction Internship Program

Encore Dredging Partners is excited to launch our Marine Construction Internship program. This is a 10-week paid internship starting in June 2026 and ending in August 2026. Overnight and out-of-town travel is required; transportation is not provided. The Company covers the expense of lodging, fuel, and meals.

Overview

Throughout ten weeks, the Intern will gain practical knowledge of Dredging Operations by working hands-on alongside Site Safety Officers, Field Engineers, and Project Management and following the outline of the Summer Internship Program Guide. This program offers the following benefits.

Essential Functions (This is not all-inclusive)

  • Upholds the Company's commitment to an injury-free workplace; leads and models safe work practices.
  • Follows all safety rules and regulations as well as all company policies and procedures.
  • Works safely around machinery; observes and instructs others in proper equipment use/wears all required PPE.
  • Aids in Project Management functions to include estimating, contracts, rented and leased equipment, and production reports.
  • Reviews project correspondence, contractual compliance, project status reporting, USACE relationships, and RMS
  • Participates in Field Operations, including job site visits, equipment overview, yard and warehouse operations, and equipment operations.
  • Assists with work orders, maintenance schedules, capital expenditures, mechanical repairs, inventory management, and shipping and receiving.
  • Shadows Site Safety Officer and observe dredge specific safety protocols, JHAs, hazard hunts, emergency procedures, and incident reporting.
  • Observes all job functions on various dredges to include Surveyor QC, Chief Engineer, and Deckhand
  • Works with Management in areas of Risk Management, Director of Operations, Superintendent, Project Management
  • Prepares executive presentation at completion of internship to the CEO, President, Vice President of Human Resources, and CFO

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science degree program, with the successful completion of 24 hours applied to related degree.
  • Passion for the maritime industry and interest in marine construction
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
  • MS: Outlook, Excel, Word, OneDrive - ability to create MS Excel spreadsheets and data reports.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the position as outlined in the Functional Job Description
  • The candidate must be able to successfully pass all pre-employment screening (observed drug test) and random drug and alcohol testing.
  • Must have clear MVR and have reliable transportation for travel.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US; this internship is not eligible for VISA sponsorship.
