At SGI, work is more than just a job; it's an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in your community, grow your professional skills, and find fulfillment in your daily tasks.

Designed for individuals of Indigenous ancestry who have graduated from Saskatchewan post-secondary institutions within the past two years, this paid internship offers hands-on experience, meaningful work, mentorship, and the opportunity to build a career at SGI.

SGI has created a culture of inclusion that ignites limitless possibilities and ensures safety, value and respect for all. Our recruitment efforts aim to reflect those we serve. This program is a direct response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Call to Action #92, which advocates for increased employment opportunities for Indigenous peoples.

We are looking for two enthusiastic Interns to join our team. If you are shortlisted, we will collaborate with you to find the best fit within our company based on your skills and interests. SGI offers a variety of roles beyond insurance. In the Auto Fund, you can help in making our roads safer or assist with driver's licence and registration inquiries. In Claims, you can help customer's who've been in an accident. If you are interested in building operations, join our Facilities team! Does marketing and promotions pique your interest? We have an amazing team you can work with. You may enjoy working with numbers in our Finance division or taking apart cars in Salvage. Or maybe the work being done in our HR or IT teams will interest you. Whatever your interest, there's a place for you at SGI!

We hope you consider applying if you:

  • Are eager to bring your knowledge to SGI.

  • Pay attention to the details.

  • Can set priorities for various tasks.

  • Can work independently and as part of a team.

  • Want to use your leadership skills to support SGI's culture and enhance your learning.

  • Are seeking early-career development opportunities

  • Are eager to learn from others and seek out mentorship.

  • Want to build your career in a workplace where you can grow and belong.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for the Crown Career Pathways Internship Program, you must:

  • Self-identify as First Nations, Inuit, or Metis.

  • Be a Saskatchewan resident.

  • Have completed an undergraduate or graduate credential (certificate, diploma, or degree) from a Saskatchewan post-secondary institution recognized by the Government of Saskatchewan within the past two years; or be within four (4) months of completing your credential.

  • Have completed a field of study relevant to SGI's work, such as Business, Social Sciences, Math and Applied Sciences, Information Technology, Health, or the Trades.

What else do we offer?

  • A positive, healthy work culture- Work culture can be the reason an employee stays or leaves a job. At SGI, we've worked hard to develop a culture we're proud of. And we continue to invest in our culture through training to make sure that our actions (and culture) reflect our corporate values: caring, passion, innovation, and integrity.

  • Awesome people- Seriously. We hire the best people, and you get to work with them. At SGI, you'll find the work family you didn't know you needed.

  • Benefits - Enjoy competitive pay, vacation pay, benefits and every second Friday off.
