About the Position

The Goodwin Living Summer Internship program allows college students an opportunity to explore the field of senior living and engage in many of the department that are essential to our organization. The application deadline is Thursday, July 23.

Applicants can apply for any of the following two departments:

  • Health Administration
  • Human Resources

The program is 2 half-days a week for the fall semester (120 hours minimum) beginning on August 21 and culminating on December 4. Interns will be required to submit all necessary onboarding documents and attend an in-person/all-day orientation on August 19 prior to their start date. 

Fall Interns will receive a stipend, a resident mentor, and 2-3 professional development workshops with our leadership team. 

Job Requirements
  • Applicants must be currently enrolled in Marymount University, George Mason or NVCC 
  • Must be able to attend Goodwin Living Orientation on Wednesday, August 19, 2026
  • Must be able to attend Goodwin Living Internship Kickoff on Friday, August 21, 2026
  • Must be able to complete the internship in person two days per week for 15 weeks, with 4 to 4.5-hour shifts each day (a total of 8 hours per week, including lunch breaks), during business hours (Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.)
  • Must have additional time outside of scheduled work hours to complete two to three workshops with Goodwin Living leaders
  • Ability to relate to and work with team members and their department
  • Creates a welcoming, friendly and adaptable environment for those they serve and work with 
  • Be interested to work with a diverse population of older adults
  • Have a can-do mindset and be excited to learn about all we have to offer
  • Proficient with email communications and knowledge of Microsoft Office
