Job Overview

The Psychologist will practice within the guidelines of their state licensing board, American Psychological Association Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct, and MTF privileges. Conduct psychological evaluations utilizing information from clinical interviews, psychological testing, and collateral sources, as appropriate.


Duties

  • Establish psychiatric diagnoses in accordance with the American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.
  • Provide psychological treatment to individuals and groups, helping medical and surgical patients cope with illnesses or injuries.
  • Assist in rehabilitation of patients.
  • Perform walk-in duties on a rotational schedule. Will be required to perform psychological testing and provide the necessary test results.
  • Provide training to junior providers/enlisted upon request.
  • Seek to improve the clinic by contributing to innovation and is expected to see evidence-based training/certificates for application of most up-to-date treatment modalities.
Requirements:

Requirements

  • Shall read, understand, speak, and write English fluently.
  • Education: Possess a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Psychology (Psy. D.) Degree from an accredited American Psychology Program. Association-accredited college or university with a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology.
  • Internship: Successful completion of an internship in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association.
  • Experience: Must have one (1) year of experience post-licensure within the last two (2) years in the evaluation and treatment of mental and emotional disorders in adult patients. As required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the Service-specific credentialing instructions.
  • Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a psychologist in any state, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, or the US Virgin Islands.
