Position Summary: TheDepartment of Accounting and Finance in the Monfort College of Business at theUniversity of Northern Colorado invites applications for a Lecturer ofAccounting and Professional Engagement. The position is divided equally betweenclassroom instruction and professional engagement, with 50% of the rolededicated to teaching accounting courses and 50% focused on developing andstrengthening relationships with accounting firms, employers, alumni, andprofessional organizations. The successful candidate will also leadaccounting-focused student engagement and professional-development activities,including Meet the Firms, Beta Alpha Psi, and related programs that connectstudents with the accounting profession.

Job Duties: TheKenneth W. Monfort College of Business, a leader in immersive learning andcareer preparation, invites applications for a Lecturer of Accounting andProfessional Engagement. This position is designed to strengthen the connectionbetween accounting education and professional practice, with responsibilitiesdivided equally between classroom instruction and professional engagement.
Thesuccessful candidate will teach undergraduate and/or graduate accountingcourses and contribute to the College's commitment to high-quality, applied,and student-centered instruction. Teaching needs may include financialaccounting, managerial accounting, auditing, taxation, accounting informationsystems, or other areas based on the candidate's expertise and departmentalneeds.
Theprofessional-engagement portion of the position will focus on developing andstrengthening relationships with accounting firms, employers, alumni,professional associations, and other external partners. The successfulcandidate will lead accounting-focused student engagement andprofessional-development activities, including Meet the Firms; serve as thefaculty advisor for Beta Alpha Psi; coordinate employer and alumni engagement;and develop related initiatives that connect students with internships,employment opportunities, mentors, and the broader accounting profession.
Candidatesshould demonstrate an enthusiastic commitment to accounting education, teachingexcellence, student success, and sustained engagement with the accountingprofession. The successful candidate will be expected to remain professionallycurrent and actively engaged with the accounting profession throughout theappointment.

 

Minimum Qualifications: Master'sdegree in accounting, taxation, business administration, or a closely relatedfield from an accredited institution; CPA licensure or a comparableprofessional credential; and substantial professional accounting experience.


PreferredQualifications: College-level teaching experience; demonstratedexperience developing relationships with accounting firms, employers, alumni,or professional organizations; and experience leading studentprofessional-development activities or accounting-related student organizations.
