Job description

Job Description :

Help shape the future of news in California.

For over two centuries, the New York Post has been at the forefront of breaking news, entertainment, sports, politics, lifestyle, commerce, and digital innovation. As one of the country's largest and fastest growing multimedia organizations, we reach millions of readers and viewers every day across our portfolio of brands, including the New York Post, California Post, Page Six, Decider, and Post Sports.

The California Post is the West Coast newsroom from the New York Post, delivering original reporting, breaking news, entertainment, sports, lifestyle, and culture coverage tailored to California audiences. Backed by one of America's most iconic media organizations, we're building a modern, digital first newsroom that moves fast, embraces innovation, and gives journalists the opportunity to make an immediate impact.

Unlike larger, more established newsrooms, the California Post offers interns the chance to roll up their sleeves and gain real newsroom experience from day one. You'll work alongside experienced editors, reporters, producers, and digital journalists, contribute to live coverage, attend editorial meetings, pitch ideas, and develop the skills needed to launch a successful career in journalism. If you're looking for an internship where you'll do more than observe, this is it.

Whether your goal is to become a reporter, editor, digital producer, or newsroom leader, this is an outstanding opportunity to build your resume, strengthen your portfolio, earn college credit, and gain hands on experience at one of the country's fastest growing media organizations.

Editorial Internship Opportunities

Throughout the coming weeks, we'll be posting editorial internship opportunities across our California newsroom, including:

  • News Reporting & Newsgathering
  • Breaking News

  • College Credit: Eligible where applicable through your institution
Qualifications

We're looking for ambitious, curious, and resourceful storytellers who are excited to learn in a fast paced, collaborative newsroom.

  • Current master's students
  • Recent graduates who completed their degree within the past year
  • Candidates pursuing degrees in Journalism, Communications, English, Digital Media, Broadcasting, or related fields are encouraged to apply

While all qualified candidates are welcome, special consideration will be given to applicants with prior journalism, newsroom, campus media, student newspaper, broadcast, digital media, or reporting experience, including previous internships or published work.

If you're passionate about storytelling, breaking news, and creating journalism that reaches millions of readers, we encourage you to apply. Join a growing newsroom where you'll gain meaningful experience, receive mentorship from industry professionals, and help shape the next chapter of one of America's most recognizable news organizations.
