Job description

Computer Vision Camera Systems Internship (Alphacore - Tempe, AZ - Onsite)

We're looking for an intern who's equally at home on the optical bench and in a Python
notebook, eager to turn raw sensor data into real-time insight.

Qualifications
Working toward or holding a degree in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
Hands-on experience with camera hardware and basic lab instrumentation.
Understanding of intrinsic & extrinsic calibration, camera-pose estimation, and radiometric calibration.
Proficiency in Python or C++; experience deploying code on embedded/edge platforms is a plus. Interest in applying machine-learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) to imaging problems.
Strong problem-solving skills and the curiosity to dig deep into both hardware and software.

What You'll Do
Calibrate advanced cameras - derive lens intrinsics, sensor extrinsic, and radiometric response curves.
Integrate multi-sensor rigs - time-align cameras with IMUs, range finders, and custom electronics, then capture synchronized datasets.
Build edge pipelines - deploy calibration-informed perception algorithms on embedded CPUs/GPUs for live testing.
Prototype rapidly in the lab - design fixtures, script data collection, and iterate on hardware-software interactions for next-generation imaging systems.

Other Job Requirements
Due to U.S. export-control (ITAR) regulations, this position is open to U.S. persons only (citizens or lawful permanent residents).
