Job Title: Mechanical Engineer 2

Location: 3701 South Street, Lafayette, Indiana 47905

Notes:

  • Ultimate goal is to deliver engine performance for Spark ignited natural gas engines
  • Engine performance for large natural gas engine
  • Gather requirements for natural gas engines
  • Define and layout what the ECM and control systems need to do
  • Fuel ratio control, ignition requirement and performance requirement
  • They have different team and program leads
  • 2 main areas electrical market and oil and gas market
  • Electrical drive
  • Oil and gas compress the gas to the pipeline – bring gas upto gas head
  • Rest of the engineers are working on data collection and data analyses to determine the kind of testing they would like to do
  • They also do fair amount of simulation to understand impact of AFAR
  • Leverage simulation to understand how the engine is going to run
  • They work closely with marketing team to understand the initial requirement
  • Work with platform team to help understand – things like piston design
  • Significant amount of teamwork in needed for that

Education:

  • Master’s candidate will be accepted

Experience:

  • Internship can only be considered if it’s related to engine performance related
