Coordinator, Social Media Categories - Basketball

Fanatics Collectibles

New York, NY

Full-time

Posted 10 days ago

Job description

About the Company

Fanatics Collectibles is a new company operating at the intersection of collectibles, culture, and technology. Backed by world-class investors, operators, and sports & entertainment partners, we are building the global leader in next-generation collectibles. As part of the broader Fanatics ecosystem, we leverage a digital sports platform that spans over 900 sports properties and engages more than 81 million fans. Together, we are reimagining every part of the collectibles experience for fans, partners, and creators.

Summary:  Fanatics Collectibles is seeking a Coordinator, Social Media Categories to build and grow our basketball-focused social presence, including @ToppsHoops. We're looking for someone who deeply understands NBA and basketball culture, internet trends, and social-first storytelling-someone who knows how to create content that feels native to each platform, resonates with collectors and basketball fans, and aligns with the fast-paced, hype-driven voice of the Fanatics Collectibles/Topps social ecosystem. This role will focus on creating, publishing, and engaging with content that builds community, drives conversation, and generates excitement around basketball collectibles.

What you will be doing...
  • Create social-first content for Instagram, TikTok, X and YouTube Shorts - including strong hooks, captions, memes, trends, and storytelling formats designed to drive engagement and conversation.
  • Shoot, edit and publish short-form content with strong instincts for pacing, audience retention, and platform-native storytelling.
  • Develop content that aligns with the voice, tone, humor, and audience expectations of existing Fanatics Collectibles and Topps social channels.
  • Manage day-to-day posting, scheduling and engagement across platforms, ensuring content aligns with platform best practices and brand voice.
  • Maintain and update a content calendar.
  • Monitor performance metrics and assist in preparing reports and campaign recaps.
  • Stay informed on category-relevant news, trends, platform innovations, and collector conversations to proactively surface opportunities.
  • Ideate and execute content concepts within assigned category.
  • Engage with fans, collectors and influencers by responding to comments, DMs and mentions in an authentic and timely manner.
  • Source, curate and share User-Generated Content (UGC).

What you will bring...
  • 2+ years of relevant social media or content experience (internships count)
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and engagement best practices.
  • Experience with creative tools such as Photoshop, Premiere, CapCut, Canva, or similar editing/design platforms.
  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills, with a keen eye for tone and visual details.
  • Proven ability to work quickly, accurately, creatively and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Deep understanding of basketball culture, storylines, talent, fan conversations, and the moments that drive engagement within the community.
  • You probably already follow basketball meme accounts, basketball creators, athlete social accounts, or collectibles pages - and naturally think about how moments, matches, and cards can become engaging content.
  • Passion for collectibles, fandom culture, and internet-native storytelling.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed.
  • Candidates may be asked to complete a short creative exercise demonstrating their understanding of social storytelling, audience engagement, and platform-native content creation.
