Reports To: PT Manager and General Manager
Status: Non-Exempt
JOB SUMMARY
The Personal Trainer is responsible for creating, servicing, and retaining a full client portfolio the XF Way.
The Personal Trainer is responsible for meeting revenue goals as defined by Xperience Fitness by providing
a service that creates repeat customers and attracts new business. The four main components of being an
XF Personal Trainer are: Prospecting, New Client Generation, Training, and Retaining.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Generates a minimum of $5,000 dollars in sales each month (Dollars generated is the sum of all Personal
Training revenue directly associated with the trainer)
• Services 120 or more sessions of Personal Training every Month
• Maintains 70% of client base every month
• Schedules one orientation per shift to generate new business and conduct the necessary prospecting to
achieve this
• Participates in club Closeout every month, scheduling 8 to 15 Orientations per Closeout
• Holds clients accountable to the terms of the XF "Results Foundation" and XF "Recipe for Guaranteed
Success"
• Gives clients nutritional advice every week and holds clients accountable to a nutritional plan/strategy that will
lead to the client's desired results
• Documents progress of all clients as outlined in the XF "Way to PT Success"
• Types and maintains dated workout card on the floor for every PT session
• Passes XF floor evaluation during every session serviced
• Daily self-evaluation based on "The XF Way to Personal Training Success"
• Records client exercise progression on workout cards
• Schedules sessions 3 months in advance
• Educates and assists members on exercise equipment, physical fitness, and realistic physical expectations
• Monitors and assists members to ensure proper form is being used while performing exercises
• Continually monitors facility, including locker rooms for cleanliness and tidiness
• Works closely with sales team on involving new members in personal training
• Completes "Monthly Business Plan" by the 1st of every month in Playbook/DPR
• Willingly completes any other task that management needs done to help meet club goals
• Adapts to the ever changing gym environment needs and goals
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Technical Skills and Knowledge - developing yours skills and knowledge will result in more effective
programs and greater member results
• Personal Service and Motivation - increasing your understanding of how the world is viewed through your
client's eyes will result in repeat business for clients
• Selling as Service - Understand how to sell training for the sake of benefiting the member
• Prospecting - Taking the necessary time to prospect new business to lead to a minimum of one Orientation
per day being scheduled
• Education and Training - knowledge of safe and effective science based on exercise prescription and
nutrition
• Systems Management - Masterful implementation of the Xperience Fitness system and the actions needed to
improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of "The Xperience Fitness Way of Personal Training
Success
• Time Management - Managing one's own time to be booked >120 sessions per month with paid clientele.
Scheduling customers (standing schedule) every week to ensure that they meet and exceed fitness goals
• Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing clients with
exceptional Personal Training services. This includes client needs, assessment, meeting quality standards
for services, floor evaluations, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
• Multitask efficiently
• Observant and detailed orientated while staying a tentative to current surroundings
• Must be self-motivated and be able to work with little supervision
• Possess good organization and time management skills
• Must be in physical shape to help and motivate others
REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Associates Degree, Trade School or higher in Exercise Science or any related area is preferred
• National Level Certification required if starting employment without degree
• PT must keep documentation of certification matching level of pay and status
• National or Elite certification required to progress to higher levels of pay and status (Elite certifications are
defined by the Vice President of Personal Training)
• CPR/AED & First Aid certifications (must be obtained within 90 days of hire)
• Must attend the Company's "I am Brand" Workshop within 90 days of hire
• Must attend the Company's "SLII" Workshop within 90 days of hire
