The Lab Mentor - Full-Time
The Lab Vitality Club is seeking a full-time Mentor to coach adults 50+ through a personalized journey focused on reducing pain, improving strength, restoring function, and rebuilding confidence.
This is not a typical trainer role.
At The Lab, a Mentor is part coach, part guide, part educator, and part accountability partner. You will work with clients who may have chronic pain, low confidence, poor balance, weakness, past injuries, joint limitations, or years of inactivity. Your role is to meet them where they are and help them progress safely and consistently.
We are looking for someone who combines technical skill with empathy, professionalism, and the ability to create meaningful human connection.
Responsibilities
• Deliver high-quality personal and semi-private coaching sessions
• Guide clients through safe, progressive exercise based on their needs and limitations
• Build strong relationships and create a high-accountability coaching experience
• Educate members clearly so they understand the purpose behind what they are doing
• Track progress and communicate wins, concerns, and next steps
• Support onboarding, assessments, body composition reviews, and member check-ins
• Reinforce consistency in training, recovery, and healthy habits
• Collaborate with the team to ensure a seamless and premium member experience
• Maintain session quality, punctuality, professionalism, and clean coaching standards
• Keep internal notes, client updates, and systems accurate and up to date
• Represent The Lab culture through energy, care, attention to detail, and ownership
• Be a great listener
Qualifications
• Degree or certification in exercise science, kinesiology, personal training, physical education, physiotherapy-related studies, or a similar field
• Experience coaching adults, beginners, or special populations is strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of exercise modification, movement quality, and client safety
• Excellent people skills and ability to communicate simply and clearly
• Patient, warm, attentive, and confident in leading others
• Highly responsible, coachable, and team-oriented
• Fluent in English; Spanish is a major plus
• Passion for helping people over 50 regain vitality and independence
• Listening to people with empathy
