About High Performance Academy (HPA)

High Performance Academy (HPA) is on a mission to empower individuals to reach their potential through sports enrichment, and positive development experiences. We partner with schools and districts across California to provide dynamic, inclusive, and high-quality after-school and enrichment programs, camps and leagues that combine sports, social-emotional learning, and mentorship. Our goal is to serve 100,000 youth by 2030 through experiences that build confidence, teamwork, and lifelong skills, on and off the field.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The General Manager leads the overall success of HPA's Clovis Indoor Center, overseeing facility operations, staff, customer experience, enrollment, financial performance, and program delivery. This role drives business growth across Youth Camps, Development Programs, Leagues, Rentals, Events, and Birthday Parties while ensuring operational excellence and alignment with HPA's mission and core values. Partnering with Corporate teams, the General Manager builds high-performing teams, develops scalable systems, and creates exceptional experiences for participants, families, and staff. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, entrepreneurial leader with strong operational, leadership, and business acumen.

HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE

  • Lead Facility Operations: Oversee all daily operations, programming, scheduling, facility presentation, safety, and operational systems to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
  • Drive Business Growth: Own enrollment, retention, revenue, and profitability across all program areas while identifying opportunities to expand offerings and increase community engagement.
  • Build amp; Develop Teams: Recruit, hire, train, coach, and lead coaches, referees, and front desk staff while fostering accountability, professional development, and a positive team culture.
  • Deliver Outstanding Customer Experience: Ensure every participant and family receives exceptional service through high-quality programming, responsive communication, and proactive issue resolution.
  • Manage Financial Performance: Oversee budgets, labor costs, payroll efficiency, program performance, and key business metrics to achieve operational and financial goals.
  • Develop Systems amp; Processes: Create, implement, and continuously improve scalable operational systems, SOPs, playbooks, and reporting processes that support long-term growth and consistency.
  • Strengthen Community amp; Culture: Represent HPA within the local community, build relationships with schools and organizations, and champion HPA's core values while creating an engaging environment for staff, participants, and families.

WHAT YOUโ€™LL BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sports Management, Recreation, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of leadership experience in sports, recreation, retail, hospitality, or another customer-facing environment
  • 2+ years of supervisory or management experience
  • Track record of owning and hitting enrollment or operational performance goals
  • Experience managing a site-level budget, tracking key performance metrics, and reporting on site performance
  • Demonstrated ability to improve systems, processes, and operational performance
  • Experience leading teams, managing daily operations, and delivering exceptional customer experiences
  • Proficient in CRM, registration, and scheduling platforms (HubSpot, DaySmart, TeamSnap, or similar)
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred โ€“ strongly valued given HPAโ€™s community
  • Ability to build and manage staff schedules across a multi-day, high-volume operation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) including basic Excel reporting and data tracking
  • Strong communication (verbal and written), leadership, and organizational skills
  • Passion for youth development, leadership, and building high-performing teams

Commitment amp; Work Schedule

This is a full-time position, averaging 40 hours per week with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, school breaks, and occasional holidays based on business needs. Although we prioritize work-life balance, there may be occasions when additional hours are necessary to support HPA Clovis Indoor Center events, meet deadlines, and ensure the success of our programs and operations. This role is expected to work during key business hours and high-traffic periods while building and leading a team that ensures consistent operations without requiring their presence at every shift.
