THE POSITION

As a Public Health Program Administrator with the Department of Health, you will help guide statewide HIV service efforts that improve lives. This position connects you to important work that supports prevention, testing, and treatment programs. You will contribute to efforts that promote fairness, access, and strong health outcomes for communities across the state. This is a chance to use your skills to create positive change!


DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports statewide HIV service standards and data activities that guide program quality and funding decisions. The work helps ensure that HIV services across Pennsylvania are effective, coordinated, and aligned with federal and state requirements. As a Public Health Program Administrator, you will perform the following duties:

  • Policy Oversight: Determine policies and procedures to maintain compliance with service standards and program goals
  • Data Analysis: Review and analyze statewide HIV program data to guide reporting, planning, and improvement
  • Technical Support: Provide guidance and training to staff and providers on data systems and service expectations
  • Quality Review: Evaluate regional grantee quality activities to ensure alignment with federal requirements
  • Service Coordination: Collaborate with partners to support efficient and integrated delivery of HIV services statewide
  • Program Planning: Assist with planning, grant activities, and reporting to support continued access to HIV services

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Public Health Program Associate 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • A bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience in the development, analysis, or monitoring of programs, grants, or contracts in health, human services, social or behavioral services, health care services, or health insurance; or
