JOB SUMMARY

This position will assist the entire Project Team, primarily the Project Manager, Field Foreman and Shop Foreman on assigned construction projects. This role will learn and acquire on the job experiences and apply skill sets in the office, shop and field to further develop construction fundamentals and knowledge and to experience real world applications.

 
 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes, but not limited to:

Office Activities

· Document Control – Maintain, organize, and distribute project documents.

· Submittals – Assist in the submittal processes as assigned.

· RFI’s – Prepare, submit, distribute to GC and applicable GSI suppliers and subcontractors.

· Scheduling – Participation in project schedule updates.

· Material Procurement – Perform necessary take-offs; Develop and issue RFQ’s and PO’s; Verify / check order acknowledgements.

· Fabrication Releases – Verification and checking of metal orders / cut lists and glass orders.

· Work Orders – Develop and issue WO tickets (delivery, fabrication, install, pick-up).

· Vendor Management – Daily / weekly follow up with vendors on commitments and progress.

· Labor Time Sheet Verification – Weekly verification of shop and field labor hours reporting.

· Interaction Development – Interact with internal and external resources to develop trade specific knowledge. Includes studying and understanding trade specific documents – i.e. shop drawings, specifications, industry publications.

Shop Activities

· Progress Reporting – Weekly fabrication and assembly progress tracking.

· Deliveries – Schedule, set-up and manage internal and external; inspect / verify external.

· Shop Requests – Process / procure necessary items and follow through.

· Fabrication – work under direct supervision of shop fabricator.

Field Activities

· Progress Reporting – Weekly installation progress tracking and progress photos.

· Deliveries – Schedule, set-up and manage internal and external; inspect / verify external.

· Field Requests – Process / procure necessary items and follow through.

· Occasional participation in weekly GC foreman / coordination meeting.

· Participation in field conflict issues / resolution.

Requirements:
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a      related field. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage      multiple tasks in office, shop, and field settings. 
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to review and verify project documents, orders, and      reports accurately. 
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with project managers, foremen,      vendors, and subcontractors. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and willingness to      learn project management software. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively in team environments across office, shop, and      field operations. 
  • Eagerness to learn and apply construction fundamentals with a hands-on approach      to problem-solving and project execution.
