Job description

Anxiety Disorders Psychologist
Whether you're a resident, a physician early in your career, or a seasoned physician with years of experience, Akron Children's Hospital has something different that's hard to explain. We are seeking a psychologist to join our growing psychology team. This position will include opportunities to lead development of an evidenced based anxiety disorder treatment program which would include evidenced based treatment of:
• Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (including Excoriation Disorder and Trichotillomania)
• Tic/Tourette
• Specific Phobias
This is an ideal opportunity for a psychologist who enjoys program development and training of doctoral level and masters prepared clinicians on evidenced based treatments. Candidates who have a background in incorporating outcomes/fidelity research into program development will be an exceptional fit for this role.
This position offers excellent opportunities to participate in training and research, based on candidate's interest. Faculty at Akron Children's Hospital are active in the training of psychology and neuropsychology fellows, psychology practicum students, as well as medical residents and fellows. Research opportunities are abundant for faculty with interest.
Requirements: Ph.D. or Psy.D. in child clinical psychology/pediatric psychology/counseling including completion of an internship in an APA/CPA-accredited child psychology/pediatric psychology program, eligibility for licensure in Ohio, and completion of a formal fellowship/postdoctoral program are required. Experience with medical populations is preferred. Board certification through the American Board of Professional Psychology must be obtained within 5 years of hire.
This position is a 501(c)(3) site which qualifies for Public Service Loan Forgiveness through the
Federal government.
