We are looking to add a Software Engineering Intern to the Advanced Projects Group in spring 2027. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced, startup environment and are passionate about contributing to the development of leading-edge high-performance computing hardware for spacecraft and aerospace systems, we would like to hear from you. 
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Demonstrate UT GRID GNSS Rx running on Cesium hardware and processing  signals from HWIL GNSS transmitter. 
  • Benchmark GRID performance on Cesium hardware representative of upcoming missions.
  • Evaluate multiple hardware blocks that allow support for multiple frequencies and/or multiple antennas.
  • Scope and advance a HWIL or purely software simulator for Lunar AFS TX/RX signals. that can implement  in CesiumAstro RPU hardware and lower-power single-board computers, in anticipation of a Fall/Spring delivery of AFS-augmented GRID/GNSS.
  • Set items in motion for L2 continuation of AFS receiver software determined by CesiumAstro L2 decisions in WNCG consortium.
  • Present results to CesiumAstro at the conclusion of the internship.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding the technical details of CesiumAstro's IP.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor of Science (BS), Master of Science (MS), or PhD program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited university.
  • GPA of 3.5 or higher.
  • Advanced coursework in embedded systems.
  • Programming experience in C or C++.
  • Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Experience in embedded systems design with preemptive, multitasking real-time operating systems.
  • Knowledge of real-time system coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces, and hardware subsystems.
  • Experience with products for military, aerospace, or automotive applications.
  • Ability to read electronics schematics and component data sheets.
