Description:

Lapham Associates is hiring a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our Civil Engineering Division in Clare or West Branch, Michigan.

We're a full-service engineering, surveying, environmental, and planning firm that's served Michigan clients since 1958. This role is a strong entry point for a recent grad to build a career in civil design, working directly under licensed engineers on land development, municipal, and infrastructure projects.

What you'll do:

  • Support site development design, grading and drainage, utility layout, and stormwater management
  • Help prepare construction documents, with exposure to permitting and construction administration
  • Work under the direct supervision of a Licensed Professional Engineer
  • Collaborate with our Surveying, Planning, and UAV/Drone Services divisions
  • Get exposure to dam safety inspection work and select structural design assignments

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • No professional experience required โ€” relevant internship experience is a plus
  • FE exam passed is preferred but not required
  • Comfortable learning new software, including Autodesk Civil 3D and Excel
  • Willing to do occasional fieldwork
  • Valid driver's license

Compensation & benefits:

$70,000โ€“$80,000 depending on qualifications. PTO, holiday pay, short-term disability, AFLAC supplemental insurance, FSA, and 401(k) (eligibility waiting periods apply for full-time employees).
