Junior Accountant, Property Management
The UIP Companies, Inc. (UIP) is a vertically integrated real estate investment, development, asset and property management, and general contracting firm specializing in multi-family, mixed-use, retail, and light industrial properties predominantly in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, including assets in DC and its close in suburbs, Hyattsville, MD and Arlington, VA. Since 2001, UIP has provided quality housing that satisfies the most discerning residents and investors.
We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our property management team in NE Washington, DC. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their accounting career who wants hands-on experience supporting day-to-day financial operations across a real estate portfolio. In this role, you'll work closely with the AP Manager and accounting team to help keep our records accurate, organized, and up to date.

What You'll Do
  • Process invoices, payments, and other day-to-day accounting transactions
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
  • Assist with tenant billing, account tracking, and reconciliations
  • Help prepare journal entries and support month-end close
  • Maintain organized financial records and documentation
  • Partner with the accounting team and property managers to resolve questions and keep information accurate
What We're Looking For
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 0-2 years of accounting experience or relevant internship experience
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Comfort with Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with property management or accounting software is a plus

Role Details

Compensation: $55K-$65K, based on experience
