FLSA Status: Hourly - Part-time (15-20 hours per week)

Position Summary:
The Pensacola Bay Center Administrative Internship Program offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of live entertainment, sports, and venue management. Interns will work directly with different departments such as, but not limited to Events Services, Food and Beverage, Box Office, and other departments related to the functionality of the Pensacola Bay Center. This internship provides a unique behind-the-scenes look at the operations of a multi-purpose arena while developing professional skills in event management, food service, guest experience, and more vital professional skills in the hospitality industry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with content creation for social media platforms
  • Create and support digital marketing campaigns and distribute promotional materials
  • Conduct market research studies to identify target audiences
  • Assist with event planning processes and event execution
  • Coordinate with clients and sponsors to manage their needs
  • Provide recaps of marketing campaigns and post-show event information
  • Assist with scheduling staff across catering, concessions, nonprofit groups, and bartenders
  • Support ordering and warehouse operations including liquor, beer, non-alcoholic beverages, dry goods, and produce
  • Help maintain inventory levels through stocking, counting, and organization
  • Support during live events to ensure smooth execution in concessions and catering roles
  • Assist with daily box office operations, including ticketing and customer service
  • Aid in resolving ticketing issues, customer inquiries, and box office reporting
  • Support during event days by assisting with box office window, will call, and ticketing concerns
  • Support event setup through diagrams, equipment orders, and additional information
  • Assist in monitoring venue readiness, cleanliness, and safety
  • Attend and participate in internal meetings, including production, food & beverage, and hockey operations
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled or recently graduated from a college or university
  • Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field (i.e. business, hospitality, marketing, or related field)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Maintain a professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Canva and Adobe.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays (as required for events)
  • Subject to credit and background screening
