Job description

Job Description:

Assist with designing, developing, and evaluating integrated systems for managing industrial production processes, including human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics and material flow, cost analysis, and production coordination.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Assists with workflow design and improvement, design for manufacturability, process changes, and capacity analysis.

  • Provides direct support to production personnel with manufacturing issues which include but are not limited to assembly or fit of components, process improvement.

  • Assists with maintaining standard operating procedures pertaining to process specifications, work instructions, process flow maps, quality control/quality assurance.

  • Works in project teams to assist in the design, development, testing, and evaluation of integrated systems for managing production processes.

  • Works in project teams to assist in the design layout of equipment, materials, & workspace for maximum efficiency based on current designs and products.

  • Assists in the evaluation of designs and processes for improvements and cost savings.

  • Provides technical support for specific production operations.

  • Assists in the evaluation of expenditures for processes and equipment.

  • Provides initial training for newly acquired equipment.

  • Coordinates with other departments and our customers.

  • Proactively identifies new areas for learning and takes advantage of learning opportunities.

  • May be required to work any shift on occasion and travel may be required on occasion.

Education and Experience Requirements: Must possess a Bachelor's in Science in Engineering, or related field, from accredited educational institution. Education beyond the minimum is an added advantage for career development. Internship with an emphasis on manufacturing activities. (preferred)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

The following is a list of knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for fulfilling job functions as a Manufacturing Engineer I.

  • Basic knowledge of CAD (preferred: AutoCAD, Inventor, or Solid Edge)

  • Basic knowledge of organizational tools (Gantt Chart)

  • Communicates effectively in written and spoken form.

  • Possesses excellent interpersonal relationship skills.

  • Possesses excellent organization skills and high attention to detail.

  • Exhibits good decision making and analytical problem-solving abilities.

  • Demonstrates strong multi-tasking capabilities and organizational skills.

  • Works effectively in a team environment.

Essential Mental and Physical Functions:

This position requires both office-based analytical work and hands-on interaction with production environments. The role demands attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Communicates effectively in written and spoken form
Possesses strong interpersonal and decision-making skills
Demonstrates multitasking and organizational abilities
Works effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Sit or stand for up to 95% of work hours
Periodic visits to the manufacturing floor with exposure to seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and chemical fumes

Work Environment:

The Manufacturing Engineer I works in both office and production floor settings. The role requires flexibility to transition between environments and maintain safety awareness at all times.

Work is performed in a combination of office and factory environments
Exposure to loud noise, dust, temperature fluctuations, and industrial equipment
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required when on the production floor
Regular collaboration with production, engineering, and quality teams
This position is designated as a safety-sensitive role and is subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing
Compliance with all company safety and operational policies is mandatory
