BlueFin, a GATE Energy Company, is a leading independent service company with a suite of project execution niches and specialty equipment, covering a full range of pipeline and process, mechanical, chemical, and fluid flushing and filtration services. Our clients range from Operators to General Contractors in the upstream, midstream, and downstream market sectors of the energy industry. This position is based in Lafayette, LA

Job Summary

The BlueFin Intern Program exposes engineering undergraduates to projects spanning wide array of engineering disciplines critical to the energy industry. Each intern is expected to provide specialized engineering support particularly focused in the areas Filtration, eelReel®, Flow Assurance, Hydrostatic Testing, Fluid Handling, Equipment Identification, Project Management Support, Drafting, and Hands-On Field Experience.

Our interns work in the field, the shop, and in the office environments to obtain experience at all levels that make up BlueFin.  Time in the internship is broken up into three areas, which are:  1. Shop time, where interns help load and unload jobs, maintain inventory, and work alongside mechanics to ready equipment.  2.  Office time, where interns learn about calculations, rig ups, drawings, procedures, costing, and scheduling while working alongside project managers.  3.  Field time, where interns will apply what they’ve learned through a hands-on approach.  Interns will also be assigned a project that will be turned in/discussed at the end of the internship.

Throughout the internship program, each intern will research a project-related topic and, upon completion of the program, present their findings to BlueFin employees.
