Job description

The Loan Insurance Analyst I is an individual contributor who supports the review and management of an assigned loan portfolio of standard loans. This role executes assigned tasks in accordance with established procedures and guidelines, applies foundational knowledge to evaluate standard insurance documentation, and escalates non-routine issues to more senior team members. The Loan Insurance Analyst I collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to address inquiries and contributes to team effectiveness through reliability, accuracy, and ongoing skill development.
Role Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze annual insurance renewal documents for assigned loans.
  • Execute assigned reviews of annual insurance renewal documents for an assigned portfolio of standard loans, following established procedures and guidelines.
  • Apply established procedures to complete assigned work, escalating non-routine, complex, or higher-risk issues to more senior team members for resolution.
  • Evaluate insurance policies for compliance with loan documents, servicing agreements, and investor standards, applying standard review processes.
  • Identify insurance deficiencies and determine appropriate follow-up actions within established guidelines, escalating non-routine or higher-risk issues as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely insurance data within internal systems in accordance with established processes.
  • Respond to inquiries from agents, borrowers, and internal customers within 48 hours, escalating complex or unresolved issues when appropriate.
  • Maintain regulatory accuracy for flood packages, audits, and compliance tasks, adhering to defined procedures.
  • Support audit requests, loan sales, and special projects as assigned.
  • Provide cross-training and backup coverage for team members.
  • Participate in ongoing training and cybersecurity compliance.
  • Identify and communicate potential opportunities for operational improvements.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years of experience in insurance, lending, banking, customer service, administrative support, or a related field.
  • Foundational knowledge of financial services, insurance industry, or loan processes is preferred.
  • Exposure to any of the following areas is beneficial, but not required:
    • Insurance documentation and policy review
    • Mortgage or loan servicing processes
    • Real estate or commercial lending
    • Financial institutions or regulatory environments
  • Experience with loan servicing or insurance tracking systems (e.g., McCracken/Strategy) is beneficial but not required.
  • Ability to follow established processes, work with guidance, escalate issues as needed, and effectively respond to inquiries
  • Internship or academic experience in a related field is a plus.

Education:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree or bachelor's degree preferred, particularly in Business, Finance, Insurance, Risk Management, Real Estate, or a related field.

Licenses/Certifications:
Exposure to or completion of coursework or training in the following areas is beneficial, but not required:
  • Associate in general insurance (AINS) or other introductory insurance coursework
  • Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) or Real Estate Finance coursework
  • Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and/or National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) flood insurance training
  • Introductory insurance, risk management, or compliance courses (e.g., via The Institutes)
