About the Company:
Founded in 2017 by Anthony and Joe Russo, AGBO is an artist-led independent studio shaping the future of film and television. The Russo Brothers and AGBO have generated more than $7 billion at the global box office, including Avengers: Endgame. The studio's projects include Academy Awardwinning Everything Everywhere All at Once, Netflix hits The Gray Man and Extraction, and Prime Video's visceral thriller The Bluff and the global Citadel franchise. Citadel Season 2 premieres in May 2026.

AGBO is currently in production with Netflix on Tygo and Mercenary, both part of the Extraction universe, as well as with Lionsgate on John Rambo, a prequel to the iconic franchise. The studio is in post-production on The Whisper Man, starring Robert De Niro, and Avengers: Doomsday, which will be released December 18, 2026. AGBO will begin shooting Avengers: Secret Wars later this year. Both upcoming Avengers films are directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and co-produced by AGBO and Marvel Studios.

Position Summary:
AGBO is looking for a Technical Artist, Environment to bridge the gap between our World-building and Engineering teams. You will drive the environment art pipeline from asset ingestion to in-engine presentation and set the technical standards for how our worlds are built and rendered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain workflows for modular kit assembly, level streaming, LOD generation, and asset optimization
  • Build Editor Utility Widgets, Blueprints, and Python scripts that improve world-building efficiency
  • Author and manage world-building shaders; Own terrain blending materials, procedural surface layering, weathering systems, and landscape material functions
  • Set and enforce technical budgets for polycount, draw call, texture memory, and streaming thresholds across environment asset categories
  • Collaborate and partner with level designers to ensure gameplay-critical geometry meets collision, navigation, and performance requirements
  • Integrate Unreal's Procedural Content Generation framework into production pipelines
  • Profile and debug environment performance using Unreal Insights, RenderDoc, and platform-specific profilers to identify and resolve bottlenecks
  • Review work deliver technical feedback and develop internal documentation and best-practices guides
  • Interface with internal artist teams and codevelopers to maintain milestone cadences
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 3-5 years of professional experience as a Technical Artist in games/ interactive media. Experience working on and shipping AAA games.
  • Deep knowledge and experience working in Unreal Engine 5 World Partition, Nanite, Lumen, PCG
  • Strong Python and Blueprint scripting; MEL / MaxScript is a bonus
  • Experience with terrain and landscape systems at scale
  • Experience in Houdini for procedural asset and scatter tooling
  • Demonstrated understanding of PBR workflows, texture compression and LOD pipelines
  • Ability to read and communicate GPU performance data clearly
