Job description

The Tech7 Company is a leading provider of support for rapid solutions development, complex systems integration, and the onboarding of commercial capabilities. The Software Engineer supports research and development efforts at the Overhead Persistent InfraRed (OPIR) Tools, Applications, and Processing (TAP) Lab. The OPIR TAP Lab is a USSF SSC Space Sensing program with a focus on developing applications to detect, track, characterize, and disseminate OPIR processed data.  In support of this activity, the TAP Lab includes a Software Factory led by Tech7.  

The Tech7 software factory is comprised of a team of software engineers and domain experts that develops, integrates, tests, and delivers software capabilities to end users.  Capabilities include those that apply machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques. The Software Engineer will take a leading role in Software Factory projects and will be a key member of a collaborative, integrated federal Government/contractor R&D team that develops, tests, and deploys specialized, high-impact capabilities for the Space Force.  A key aspect of this position is to develop and apply techniques for performance assessment of applications developed both within the TAP Lab and external to it.

 This position is located in the Boulder, Colorado area.  Candidates must live within a commutable distance of Boulder, Co. 

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, testing, and deployment of software technologies for OPIR applications.
  • Develop testing methodologies and lead the deployment of those technologies for OPIR systems.
  • Programming expertise in one or more programming languages and libraries, especially Typescript, Python, and Java.
  • Experience with deploying applications using a DevSecOps pipeline.
  • Ability to write clear and concise code and related documentation that are understandable to the intended end user.
  • Able to work in and lead diverse and varied teams covering multiple concurrent projects.
  • Author, review, and negotiate Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Teaming Agreements (TAs), and complex subcontract flow-down clauses.
  • Communicate clearly and proactively in a fast-paced environment, exercising sound judgment, flexibility, and attention to compliance.
  • Represent Tech7's culture and values in daily activities and in engagements with fellow employees, customers, and partners.

 Qualifications:
 Minimum Experience:

  • Citizenship Must be a US citizen
  • Education Bachelor's degree in computer science
  • Experience Three (3) or more years of experience in the development and assessment of software systems. Experience should include past experience within OPIR domain.

 Additional Experience:

  • Must possess strong analytical, technology, and organizational skills
  • Accuracy, timeliness, and attention to detail are required
  • Ability to work independently and meet communicated schedules and deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to collaborate as a team member and provide additional support to meet program and organizational priorities as needed
  • Ability to travel on occasion

Clearance:

  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance 

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only.  Salaries are commensurate with experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.   Annual Pay Transparency Range: $120,000.00 - $145,000.00
