Registered Dietician (RD) / Registered Dietician Nutritionist (RDN)
Ontario County, NY
Schedule: Part-Time (16 hours/week) Onsite
Contract Term: 12 Months
Renewals: Up to 2 additional 12-month periods (maximum 3 years total)
Registered Dietician (RD/RDN) to support the Office for the Aging's Senior Nutrition Programs on a part-time basis. The Dietician will oversee menu development, nutritional counseling, site inspections, volunteer training, and compliance with State and Federal nutrition guidelines for senior services. This role is essential in ensuring high-quality nutrition services for older adults receiving home-delivered meals (HDM) and community dining services.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide nutritional counseling and maintain complete documentation for OFA client referrals.
  2. Process new clients and complete all required onboarding paperwork.
  3. Enter all client activities and counseling notes into the Statewide Client Database.
  4. Develop, review, and approve quarterly menus following NYS OFA nutritional standards for HDMs and Community Dining Sites.
  5. Conduct community dining site monitoring, inspections, and quality checks with the OFA Nutrition Coordinator.
  6. Create and deliver quarterly volunteer training sessions on food safety, community dining, and OFA nutrition topics.
  7. Support the OFA team in implementing and reviewing client satisfaction surveys.
  8. Adhere to all OFA client policies, procedures, and documentation requirements.
  9. Perform additional duties as assigned by OFA leadership.
Required Qualifications
  • Registered Dietician (RD) or Registered Dietician Nutritionist (RDN) - Active registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
  • Current New York State license to practice as a Dietician/Nutritionist.
  • Bachelor's degree in Dietetics/Nutrition + completion of an accredited Dietetic Internship.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a clinical, community, or senior nutrition environment.
  • Strong knowledge of nutritional needs of older adults and related dietary guidelines.
  • Excellent communication, record-keeping, education, and interpersonal skills.
