This position is a senior engineering leadership role involving project, client, staff, and business development responsibilities, including:

  • Manage and implement challenging technical projects involving site investigation, remediation, and environmental due diligence processes
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing clients, using your expertise to support Geosyntec’s growth through effective business development and client management
  • Task and project management, including planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability
  • Evaluate contaminated sites and develop remediation strategies, including feasibility studies, remedial action plans, and remediation design plans
  • Lead the development of work plans, data evaluation, and cost-benefit analyses
  • Implement remedial pilot tests and then construct and operate full-scale systems, including vendor selection, logistical coordination, calculations, engineering design, permitting, and supervision of field teams
  • Write technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals; oversee and review documents prepared by project teams
  • Interpret policy and interact with regulatory agencies advocating on behalf of our clients
  • Establish and foster trust-based relationships with clients, regulatory personnel, and other project stakeholders
  • Mentor and support early career staff in project execution, cost and schedule management, client relations, and career development; address performance gaps as needed
  • At times, this position may also include fieldwork, including site visits, multi-media environmental sampling and characterization, drilling oversight, contractor oversight, and remediation system operations, maintenance, and construction
  • Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, chemical, or environmental (required) 
  • Advanced degree in the same (preferred)
  • Professional licensure in California (i.e., P.E.) (required) 

  • At least 8 years of environmental consulting experience in the California marketplace; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required) 
  • Demonstrable track record of successful client management and business development (required)
  • Thorough understanding of CalEPA, USEPA, and SWRCB regulations (required)
  • Excellent technical leadership of multi-disciplinary project teams (required)
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed (required)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills (required)
  • Regional visibility through involvement in professional associations or trade organizations (preferred)
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required) 

This opportunity will be posted for at least five days. Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified location(s) below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec’s total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

  • Minimum Salary: $134,970/year / Maximum Salary: $188,960/year (Long Beach, CA)
