POSITION: Network School Psychologist, Evaluation Specialist
GRADE LEVEL: Middle and High School
LOCATION: Based in Denver, CO with travel to a subset of schools (typically 4-6)
SALARY: $72,500-$88,400, based on aligned years of experience (up to 10 years). Most candidates with 3-5 years of relevant experience start in the $77,000-$82,000 range. We also offer a relocation stipend for anyone joining us from 75+ miles away!

WHY THIS ROLE
DSST built a collaborative Network Evaluation Team model - pairing School Psychologists with SpEd Teachers to strengthen assessment quality and evaluation reports across our network. As a Network School Psychologist, Evaluation Specialist, you won't be doing this work alone: you'll have a dedicated Lead Network Evaluation Specialist providing weekly coaching and development, plus a team built specifically to support comprehensive, root-cause-driven evaluations for students across Denver and Aurora.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
DSST's Network Evaluation Specialist - School Psychologist plays a critical role in ensuring students with disabilities receive high-quality, legally compliant special education evaluations. Reporting to the Home Office Exceptional Learner Team, this role supports schools in identifying students with social-emotional needs, conducting initial and re-evaluations, and collaborating closely with school teams and families to connect students to appropriate services.
The Network School Psychologist, Evaluation Specialist will assess students for cognitive as well as social-emotional impacts and support school-based teams and the community in providing appropriate supports. This includes working closely with school teams and families to understand impact areas, complete necessary assessments, and summarize results in a holistic, comprehensive manner so schools and families can connect students with the right supports. This role supports cases across the DSST network at both the Middle School and High School levels, and may include students receiving mild/moderate support as well as center programming. Strong interpersonal skills are essential given the close collaboration between families, school teams, and special service providers - as is strong communication, organization, and time management.
Evaluation & Assessment (80%)

• Conduct in-school assessments and participate in eligibility meetings (on average) 4-5 days per week.
• At the direction of the Lead Network Evaluation Specialist and in collaboration with the Home Office Exceptional Learner Team, be assigned to schools and individual cases throughout the DSST network to ensure all students with disabilities have strong, comprehensive evaluations and assessments matched to appropriate in-school and community support.
• Work on several special education evaluations simultaneously while supporting multiple schools throughout the course of a week.

Collaboration & Communication (20%)

• Build strong, collaborative relationships with members of the school Special Education Team including special service providers.
• Communicate with General Education Teachers, Special Education Teachers, and Special Service Providers about information needed and timelines for assessments and special education evaluations.
• Communicate regularly with families, outside providers, and comprehensive IEP teams in a collaborative and student focused manner.
• Communicate regularly with the Home Office Exceptional Learner and Home Office Mental Health Team as needed.
• Receive weekly coaching and development from the Lead Network Evaluation Specialist.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
School Psychology Experience:

• 2+ years serving as a School Psychologist (elementary, middle school, or high school level)
• Experience administering standardized assessments, conducting root-cause analysis, and writing holistic, comprehensive evaluation reports
• An unwavering belief that all students can succeed in high school, reach their most ambitious post-secondary goals, and lead exemplary lives
• Desire to personally and professionally grow in their practice of becoming an anti-racist and anti-ableist educator
• Proven commitment to and experience with serving students of color, students with disabilities, and/or multilingual students
• Self-awareness, a regular practice of reflection, and a desire to continuously improve their practice, communication, and leadership skills

Education & Licensure:

• Ed.S. (60+ graduate semester hours) or doctorate in School Psychology from an accredited university, consistent with Colorado's SSP licensure requirements
• Completion of a supervised practicum and a 1,200-hour internship in a school setting (minimum 600 hours in-school), as required for Colorado SSP licensure
• Candidates must be actively pursuing or willing to begin the Colorado Special Service Provider (SSP) application process, with the endorsement fully completed prior to their start date. (Colorado does not offer interim authorization for Special Services licenses, so this must be finalized before day one - we encourage candidates to start the CDE application as early as possible, ideally upon accepting an offer. Candidates holding NASP's Nationally Certified School Psychologist [NCSP] credential may find this process faster, as Colorado accepts it toward several SSP requirements.)
