The School of Natural Resources and the Environment (SNRE) in the Davis College of Agriculture and Natural Resources at West Virginia University invites applications for a full-time, 11-month Teaching Assistant Professor position in the Environmental, Energy and Land Management (EELM) program.
The EELM program is a distinctive and highly successful academic program with strong industry partnerships and exceptional student career outcomes. The program maintains accreditation through the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL) and is one of only two AAPL-accredited programs in the eastern United States and among only ten nationwide. This position offers an exciting opportunity to help lead and grow a nationally recognized program that prepares students for careers in energy, land management, right-of-way, environmental consulting, and related industries throughout Appalachia and beyond.

  • Maintain compliance with AAPL accreditation standards
  • Coordinate student participation in professional events, conferences, and competitions
  • Support student scholarship opportunities and professional development
  • Maintain program communications, marketing materials, website content, and social media presence in collaboration with College communications staff
  • Track and report program outcomes including enrollment, internships, scholarships, and alumni success
  • Maintain active engagement with professional organizations including AAPL and the International Right of Way Association

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with AAPL accreditation standards and industry practices
  • Experience coordinating programs, outreach initiatives, or workforce development efforts
  • Existing professional industry connections within the Appalachian region

About the Program
