Job Summary: The Material Handler position is responsible for the inventory and shipping of product, and unloading and checking incoming freight. Ensure safe and effective operation of the work environment. Works to ship a product of utmost quality to meet customer needs and expectations. Responsible for maintaining high standards of safety in the manufacturing environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Adhere to the company's safety procedures and OSHA guidelines, including correctly and consistently wearing required PPE.
• Responsible for reporting all employee and safety incidents, safety hazards, and machine issues.
• Lift Truck Certification.
• Prepare products for shipments by securing loads with belts.
• Prepare loading area for outgoing shipments by staging products for containers and/or trailers.
• Examine outgoing shipment to ensure specifications are met.
• Pull defective products and send them to rework.
• Communicate with Team, dispatchers, production lines, and sales personnel regarding shipments.
• Prepare Bill of Lading forms.
• Prepare customs forms for export out of the U.S.
• Records and documents the products on the respective load by using a handheld scanner to scan labels and download information to the computer into the BAAN system.
• Ship trial/sample rolls to customer as needed.
• Receive incoming shipments.
• Verify shipments against bills, invoices, or other records.
• Unload shipments and move to appropriate storage.
• Send incoming shipment invoices, packing lists, etc., to the Business Office for processing.
• Unpack incoming local shipments, reject damaged goods, record shortages, and correspond with the shipper to correct.
• Process partially used return products.
• Assign stock location for raw materials.
• Mark stock items with part number, quantity, and customer name.
• Record raw material for work in Process by using a scanner.
